Globalization is not a step. It certainly causes a great reduction of space and communication time, but it has not erased cultural diversity. To those who, in the humanitarian, in business, international organizations, are obliged to work or live in cultures that are not theirs, this book provides a reflection on the difference, cultural misunderstanding, the challenge of identifying areas of agreement. It offers these professionals a habit of questioning the culture of the other have the same conception of time, action, wealth, hierarchy, the connection to the natural environment? We talking the same language? Any communication that is it verbal? All these questions help us to recognize our own cultural conditioning and encourage us to practice these virtues of intercultural relations: the doubt, which does not prevent convictions; patience, which does not drive.
